        Verdict

        John Mackie's Fantino has won three of his last four starts but is now 5lb higher than when scoring at Wolverhampton last time and he looks booked for a place at best this afternoon. Peter Bowen's consistent Markington is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Beverley in July and has claims but he has disappointed in two starts since then, while Cotton Mill looks too high in the weights judged by his run on his handicap debut at Newmarket last time. Rajeh is capable but inconsistent and preference is for AURORIAN. Richard Hannon's gelding has been running well in defeat in recent starts, stays well and he looks worth chancing off his current mark.
