In depth

Verdict

Lava Lamp seeks to build on his recent C&D victory off a 7lb higher mark while Mountainous returns to the scene of his two wins so far under Rules having found the company too hot at Ascot last time. Secret Dancer is potentially well handicapped but has disappointed this season while stable companions Pure Faith and Rio Gael will probably be back over fences soon. Decoy has every chance if rediscovering the form he showed in the autumn but there should be more to come from PERSIAN SNOW, who was a very decent performer in bumpers and finally came good over hurdles when long odds-on at Huntingdon. The handicapper has taken no chances with Philip Hobbs' grey but he still gets the vote.
