In depth

Verdict

The string of seconds alongside Prince Of Delphi's name is offputting and we're going to side with Toms Laughter; Savile's Delight and After The Show are obvious candidates for the short-list. The selection has down well since joining Ron Harris' team and has won three of his last five starts on the all-weather. Clearly, he needs to improve again if he's to continue to defy the handicapper but there's every reason to believe that he may be able to continue that progression back on grass and looks well drawn for his style of running. After The Show went a long time without winning but comes here on the back of a four-timer. He's gone close from higher marks in the past, will be doing all of his best work at the finish and has to be respected. Similar comments apply to Savile's Delight who has been a fine advertisement for the skills of Tom Dascombe and there's no reason why that pair shouldn't be involved. Typically competitive stuff but supporters of Toms Laughter may be laughing loudest come the finish.
