In depth
Verdict
A good race in prospect for the grade and although Barton Nick along with Bell Lane Lad and Leith Hill Star are all respected; slender preference is for Hirvine, who arrives here fit from a good campaign on the Flat. The selection also has some useful hurdles form to his name and is consistent sort that can be relied upon to run his race. The trip should not be a problem for him and he may have too much toe for a few of these. The front-running Romero is another who will appreciate this sort of trip and is entitled to be on the premises at the finish. However, Hirvine is a real battler and he will be hard to master if he runs his usual race.
