Verdict

Having failed to complete in a couple of point-to-points, We're Confused is bound to be popular with backers following an encouraging return to regulation fences when chasing home Pristine Condition in a maiden hunter chase last month and he has to be respected but a better bet may be multiple winning pointer MASTER ALF, who gets the vote ahead of Penny Doc. Philip York's gelding has been running consistently well in points and in a hunter chase on his reappearance behind Cowboyboots at Haydock last month so he has to be respected. Eric George's High Toby comes here on the back of a good win in a point-to-point last month and has to be considered on his return to regulation fences, although a bigger threat is likely to come from Super Kay. The nine-year-old has not been seen under rules since finishing a fair fourth in a better race than this at Stratford in May 2008 but he made a pleasing return between the flags last month and has every chance provided that this does not come too soon for him. Preference though is for Suzy Bull's Master Alf, who has not raced under rules since March 2008 but he has been in fine form in points since then and looks worth chancing back in this grade.
