Verdict
An uncompetitive contest and, barring mishaps, this appears at the mercy of Crown Counsel who has outstanding claims. The Amanda Perrett-trained colt was a highly promising second of 26 behind a well regarded type in a Newmarket maiden on his debut last October and was then far from disgraced when a close third at Leicester. A reproduction of either effort should prove more than enough to prevail against some moderate rivals. Kanga is exposed as being plating class and has been well beaten on the all-weather of late so Downtime, who has shown little to date but is a lightly raced type open to further improvement, may be the one for the forecast.
