Verdict
The form of Takoda's debut is working out well and the Namid colt gets a confident vote in the opener. Rising Cross makes the most appeal out of the remainder with previous experience, while Broughton Treasure is bred to be effective at the trip and will not need to be anything out of the ordinary to figure for a place. Pix was not given a hard time on his debut and he will be a lot better for the run. Still he does need to have improved and may be best watched just for now. Especially if he runs to the form of his first outing, where Rising Cross finished just over a length in front of him. A more forceful ride from both will help the assessor gain a truer measure today and it will be interesting to note where they finish in proximity to each other. Nevertheless, Takoda showed plenty of dash when he raced at Bath and, with that form already looking solid, he will not need to better the effort by much to get off the mark today.
