        Verdict

        A tough race gets proceedings underway and as usual in these types of events the market will prove all important, but the principals look to be Querido, Jamaaron and Haatmey and the vote goes to Querido. The selection is from a yard that is carrying all before them with its two-year-olds this season and he is sure to have learnt from his debut effort which saw him finish fourth behind Transaction, and with that experience behind him he is impossible to oppose. Jamaaron rates the main danger as he was beaten by Montgomery's Arch on his debut and that horse has since won a Group 2 race so he is a danger to all. Haatmey is a Josr Algarhoud colt, a half-brother to winning miler Raneen Nashwan but he may just come on for the run and for that reason he is opposed. Of the remainder Merrymadcap has shown a modicum of ability in three runs to date and is another with place claims but he may be seen to better effect in handicaps and for the winner we return to Querido.
