      Verdict

HIGH SAMANA is no world-beater but is unlikely to get a better opportunity. Seamus Mullins' charge only managed one placed effort on the Flat but has done better over hurdles, following a narrow defeat at Kempton with a disappointing run when well backed at Warwick. Reggie Perrin showed a little promise on the Flat and was still in touch when falling at Plumpton though that was a very poor race and he'd made mistakes earlier. Divine Rule was in touch for a long way on his hurdling bow at Wincanton last month but has been well beaten in two subsequent starts on the Flat so it could be Songsmith that poses the main threat as he was better than these on the level and can't do any worse than on his debut over timber at Market Rasen where he unseated his rider at the first.
