Verdict

RAVETHEBRAVE is selected in a competitive looking race. After the difficulties of last season, Alan King is building up his portfolio of winners again and this previous Irish point-to-point winner, who was over the top at Ayr before the summer, can come back to take this. Rear Gunner is officially rated the highest of these over hurdles but that may be a false indicator of his chances in this race. His part owner has previously suggested quicker ground is more suitable and although he has the advantage of having jumped fences before he is bypassed on this occasion. General Kutuzov could be a danger with the softer ground likely to suit having won on testing ground before. Fences shouldn't prove an issue with the trainer aiming his career towards the bigger obstacles. Canni Thinkaar has won over timber six times and is respected on chase debut whilst Arkose should improve for his reappearance run at Huntingdon for a trainer with a decent record here. Alldunnandusted may find the ground too soft and has more to find after a drab first outing over fences.
