Verdict
Winning under a penalty is always a tall order, but SOUNDS OF JUPITER is the only one here with some decent, recent form and we'll side with him ahead of Beaubrav and Playful Asset. David Simcock's charge, his only runner on the card, absolutely hacked up last time out at Brighton after being given a very soft lead. He probably won't find this as easy a race, but he's certainly on an upwards curve, which is more than most here can say. Playful Asset avoids top-weight status with a seven pounds claimer on board for Paul Howling, for whom she's shown improvement since moving to his yard. She won a claimer and then came third in a handicap, and the change of scenery has certainly brought about an upturn in fortunes. Having said that, the trainer's not had a winner here in the last five years. Beaubrav is regularly placed, and looked primed to lose his maiden tag at the ninth time of asking last time out when wearing a first time tongue strap, but he got headed again late on. He probably needs to come down a few pounds though to finally find his way to the winners' enclosure. Tinkerbelle is another who keeps threatening to win, and being at the bottom of the weights will certainly help. However, it may not be enough to deny our selection, Sounds of Jupiter.
