Verdict

Just Anvil has the scope to progress in staying chases and is a tentative choice, with See You Around, The Three Bandits and Ashgreen worth a mention. The reason that Just Anvil is not a rock-solid selection is the fact that he displayed plenty of stamina on heavy going when making most of the running to beat Secret Drinker at Plumpton recently. That was his 10th career start, all of which have been over the bigger obstacles, so at last he has plenty of experience in that department. Although saddled with a seven-pound penalty today and due to encounter slightly faster going, Laurie Wells's charge should still play a leading role against this opposition. See You Around is exposed but will benefit from the longer journey after being outpaced behind Myson here last time and he can give the selection most to do. The Three Bandits was tailed off over hurdles at Plumpton last March but given his stable's record with these types, the market should be watched. Ashgreen is lightly-raced and can only improve on what he showed on his Hereford return and might be worth considering for a place, but with Justin Morgan taking seven-pounds off Just Anvil's back, he has more chance than most in a run-of-the-mill event.
