Verdict
Pilgrims Progress is given another chance although he will have to be at his best to see off Lord of Beauty and Tai Lass. Richard Johnson's mount made a mistake at a vital stage during his recent Newbury race and with this race a non-handicap, he is meeting a number of these rivals off significantly better terms. Lord Of Beauty has to rate as the major danger. He beat our selection easily on their last meeting and while he is likely to be sent off towards the head of the market, his jumping and indeed, his ability to handle the surface have to be taken on trust. Maharbal achieved a high BHB rating on account of a decent British debut. He has ability in spades even discounting two modest runs since. Constantine was always going to struggle behind Made In Japan in February and it is fair to say that the value of that Sandown form has achieved greater significance since. Monte Cinto is another French import who is yet to show much since crossing the Channel. Pilgrims Progress looks the most likely winner with Lord of Beauty looking the danger.
