In depth

Verdict

Not a race to get heavily involved in and one where Rakalackey and De Blanc make most appeal, and we will take the former to score. Henry Daly's charge was rated virtually the same as De Blanc over hurdles and is a very lightly raced individual, who makes his chasing debut here. This trip over fences should be ideal, his yard are going well enough, though there is a slight doubt about the ground. The same can be said of De Blanc, who improved on her chase debut to finish in the frame at Wincanton last time, and may still be capable of better. She will have supporters, especially with her allowance, and she can go well. King Triton could be the fly in the ointment, returning after a huge lay-off. He goes really well on soft ground, but it's a big ask to win on his chasing debut after over two-and-a-half years off and over a trip that looks short of his best. Of the remainder, Jonanaud would have a squeak on his best form but is not producing that at present, and so we will side with Rakalackey to make a winning debut.
