Verdict
Ben More has shown enough to warrant support in a weak contest in which only Dusky Light and Wayward Melody would appear to offer any resistance. This is not an event to get too involved in but Ben More does at least have some placed form to his name, most recently over longer here last month when he failed to see out the trip but hung on to third place. Prior to that, Kelly Marks¿s six-year-old was returning from a two-month break when nearly managing to make all at Ludlow in similar company. He should now be spot on and the slightly shorter trip will help him to finally open his account. Dusky Light showed a modicum of ability on his bumper debut in 2002, finishing third to the useful Bourbon Manhattan at Taunton. He has failed to progress since then and the fact that he turns out here speaks for itself. Wayward Melody was a lucky juvenile winner here last September, when capitalising on carnage at the final flight, but he himself ran out at Exeter on his latest outing in December and is no reliable betting medium. All in all, this looks best left to Ben More to small stakes.
