Verdict

One of the biggest fields of the day and from a shortlist of Keyneema, Take Me There and THE GOOD GUY, a chance is taken on the last-named. Kim Bailey's gelding has been given a break since disappointing at Fakenham in October. Today he is returned to hurdles and based on his good Novice wins at this track and at Ludlow last Spring he is a major player off this mark of 115. The drop in trip is in his favour and he looks sure to run well at rewarding odds. King Gabriel was not the only one in the line-up to disappoint when last seen but like Keyneema they are horses to consider if back to the form shown when winning earlier in the season. Take Me There enters handicaps on a mark of 111 which may prove to be lenient. His recent second to Yetholm reads well and if he lasts home over this slightly longer trip then he is unlikely to be far away. Ardmaddy and Gremlin have not been in bad form of late and each deserves a prominent pitch on a list of dangers. Santera is perhaps more effective at a lower level, Zelos ran much better in defeat last time, whilst Project Gallery is tackling easier company this afternoon and he doesn't have too much to find. Recent winner Days Of Pleasure must feature prominently on any shortlist given the way he battled on when challenged last time when winning here in March, however in a tough race it is The Good Guy who can finish first.
