Verdict

Gioia Di Vita confirmed earlier promise over hurdles when easily getting off the mark at Worcester. But this is a better race and he now has a penalty, as does Detroit Blues who made it third-time lucky in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f here last month. The four-year-old TO BEGIN also has 7lb extra but only had to be shaken up to beat the long odds-on previous winner Benissimo on only his second start over timber. Taken at face value, that was a decent effort and there should be more to come. Princeton Royale was still in touch when falling at Uttoxeter last month but the once-promising Royal Battalion appears to be going backwards.
