Verdict
Silver Accord is the benchmark in this maiden hurdle but with that bar not set very high we prefer HORSESHOE REEF, who can continue to improve, ahead of There's No Panic and Like a Hurricane. We've seen gradual improvement in two starts from the pick as he followed a promising debut over timber with a place at Taunton last month. The form from the last contest has a solid feel about it and further progression might be enough. There's No Panic won his debut in a bumper over course and distance before recovering from a fall to run a solid race when fourth of 11 at Exeter last time out. He represents powerful connections and obviously has a liking for this quirky track. Like A Hurricane has been out for nearly two years and comes into this with some really useful form in bumpers. From a top yard he's bound to well schooled so despite the absence he has to be considered. Louis Pasteur is an interesting one in the race after winning his only point start and any cash for Nick Mitchell's charge would certainly prick our interest further but with two progressive efforts under the saddle already under rules Horseshoe Reef gets the marginally verdict.
