In depth

Verdict

Hier Encore won over track and trip on Boxing Day and ran well again off today’s higher mark when fourth back here last time. But SPECIAL ACCEPTANCE drops in class after unseating at Sandown last month and gets the nod on an earlier second at Huntingdon when finishing just ahead of Smarty Wild, who has subsequently landed a hat-trick. Maiden hurdle winner The Cannister Man finished a lot closer at Ludlow recently but the remainder are hard to recommend on recent form.
