        Verdict

        Previous winners Cabimas and Ivan Vasilevich were both beaten last time and face no easy task under a penalty. Mad George only beat two rivals in a Plumpton bumper in October but five-times Flat winner Whodathought showed promise on his hurdling debut at Towcester in June and should improve. Fellow Flat winner Yes Chef could also be interesting and Twentyfourcarat was only beaten a neck over 2m5f at Kempton in October. But AMERICAN LEGEND showed enough on his racecourse debut at Uttoxeter last month to suggest a race like this should be within his compass and he'll know more today.
