Verdict
Con Tricks, Gigs Gambit and Mini Dare are three against the field in this close knit handicap and the selection is Con Tricks. The gelding from the John Mullins yard won well a couple of runs ago when defeating Angel Delight and he had every chance last time until falling. If his confidence has not been effected he will be hard to beat with conditions in his favour. Gig's Gambit would be the main danger on his best form but he appears to have regressed of late and can not be backed with any confidence. Mini Dare is also worthy of respect he was a good second on his debut this season behind Flinders. However he was let down by his jumping last time and the step up in trip is not sure to suit. Jazz Duke was third behind Apple Joe last time but he looks weighted up to his best. Backscratcher won well last time out and he could go well but thew softer the ground the better for him. But in a tricky contest we are happy to side with Con Tricks.
