In depth

Verdict

This looks as fiercely competitive as ever though it has never been a good race for four-year-olds which may rule out the progressive Zarak The Brave, though Paul Townend picks him over three stablemates. Gordon Elliott also has a quartet of entries and Party Central, a Listed winner last year and twice successful on the Flat this season, may prove best of the quartet. Grade 3 winner Brazil is on a nice mark and had a pipe-opener on the level last month but FILEY BAY may prove the one to beat. Placed in top handicaps at Newbury and Cheltenham in the spring, he'll have been laid out for this. Tudor City has won this twice and enters the fray having scored on the Flat at the Curragh so still looks remarkably well treated.
