In depth

Verdict

At this time a year ago WICKLOW BRAVE was running in the Caulfield Cup and the Melbourne Cup. He's been cleaning up in minor races on the Flat and over hurdles this summer and, though disappointing when only third in a Grade 3 at Tipperary last time, should have few problems seeing these off. Val De Ferbet is much better known as a chaser these days though did have the pace to win on the Flat at Clonmel in May where the ground was very testing. Jaime Sommers has been kept busy throughout the year but he's a chaser and is hardly likely to have the pace of the selection.
