In depth

Verdict

Waaheb ran twice at last year's Festival, finishing a very good third before unseating his rider a couple of days later. A run over hurdles earlier this month will have put him straight for another crack. Sir Abbot has been in very good form in tough handicaps but wouldn't want much more rain while On Fiddlers Green was by no means disgraced when just failing to concede Duckweed 7lb at Limerick after impressing at Clonmel. As De Pique didn't need to be at his best to score at Wexford last week and an 8lb rise looks harsh, though he had the front-running Altiepix a long way behind. Kilcrea and Na Trachtalai Abu fought out the finish of a Killarney handicap a couple of weeks ago and the latter can gain his revenge but a chance is taken with LETTERMACAWARD. Mick Winters' charge has only had three runs over fences, winning the latest of them at Bellewstown last August. He's had a couple of recent runs over hurdles to tune him up for this and can reward each-way support.
