    Verdict

Rhododendron won the Lockinge back in May though Aidan O’Brien’s filly is versatile as regards the distance having also won the Group 1 Prix de l’Opera over 1m2f in France last year. But URBAN FOX took a big stride forward on her first start over today’s trip when landing the Group 1 Pretty Polly at the Curragh by over three lengths. The Haggas filly gets the vote on that form as she was giving weight to runner-up and previous Oaks winner Forever Together, who beat Wild Illusion at Epsom. The latter drops back in distance after placing in the Ribblesdale at Ascot and had earlier found Billesdon Brook too good in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. Richard Hannon’s filly was subsequently well beaten over a mile in the Coronation Cup behind third-placed Veracious but that was the latter’s seasonal debut and she may yet prove up to this level though Wilamina looks up against it.
