Verdict
Mark Johnston's Music News is likely to improve from his debut effort when last of the 12 runners in a Beverley maiden in May but he needs to and a safer option looks to be the Clive Cox-trained WINTER'S NIGHT, who gets the vote. The daughter of Night Shift made a pleasing debut in a better contest than this at Newbury last month and, granted natural improvement for that run, she looks the one to beat. Not all runners improve for their first start though and Hard Bargain was very disappointing at Lingfield recently having run well first time up at Salisbury. Andrew Balding's Song Of The Siren is an interesting newcomer and the daughter of With Approval has to be considered first time out but she will need to be useful to get the better of Winter's Night.
