In depth
Verdict
This looks a typically open sprint but Golden Dixie has impressed as one to follow having won both starts to date with something in hand and may be able to complete a hat-trick. Ian Balding's charge showed a useful turn of foot to land a minor event over this trip at Newcastle last month and, granted further progress, looks sure to be in the shake up from a favourable low draw. David Nicholls is always a man to fear in races of this nature and there will be good support for the stable's representatives Flak Jacket and Loyal Tycoon. The former goes particularly well here but is now 11lb higher compared to his course and distance success last month and may struggle while Loyal Tycoon had his limitation exposed at York last time having landed weak events previously. Barrantes takes a step up in class having won at Folkestone recently while Toldya faces no easy task having risen sharply (11lb) following her Kempton victory last time out.
