Minority Report is taken to defy topweight at the expense of Presumptive, Fiefdom and Desert Chief to name but a few. Luca Cumani has had to be patient with Minority Report who has not won since scoring over the course-and-distance last August. However, he has taken on good company, including when down the field in the Royal Hunt Cup. The seven-year-old's last two outings have been here on ground that was not as fast as he would have liked, but he was not beaten far on either occasion, and with conditions to suit today, he is taken to give Jamie Spencer the first winner on the card. Presumptive was slightly unlucky-in-running in a ladies' race at Ascot last time, and with his trainer in a bit of form again, he should not be ruled out despite a low draw, while Fiefdom shaped well on his second visit to Chester in 48 hours a fortnight ago, and is well handicapped on form of old. Desert Chief will benefit from this drop back in trip but has not impressed in the Godolphin silks, and for the winner we remain loyal to Minority Report.
