Verdict

DEEDS NOT WORDS' return to winning ways at Chepstow wasn't entirely unexpected as he'd run well at Newmarket previously. Only 3lb higher, Mick Channon's gelding is still well treated on past form - including a course and distance win in 2013 - and looks well drawn against the stands' rail. Pour La Victoire wins his fair share of these and may appreciate the return to 6f while Cape Xenia was far from disgraced when chasing a hat-trick at Ascot earlier this month and could easily bounce back. Divine Call has probably been running a little better than form figures suggest and it will be interesting to see if first-time blinkers have an effect while Vincentti can also go well. Evening Attire was well backed over this trip at Yarmouth last month but this is a more competitive affair.
