      Verdict

Premio Loco produced a shock when beating THISTLE BIRD in this a year ago in what was a messy race. Chris Wall's veteran arrives in good heart but the runner-up has been in fine form and very nearly created a shock of her own in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes here when she just failed to peg back Winsili. That form would be good enough for this and she gets the nod though Afsare is well up to this class and could hardly have won with more authority at Salibury, where he treated a Group 3 field with contempt. The French challenger Shamalgan rarely runs on anything other than soft ground but would have a definite chance if the going eases.
