In depth

Verdict

Minority Report is selected here ahead of Vitznau and White Deer. Minority Report has course and distance form and comes here on a competitive mark and his chance is respected. Binanti and King Of Argos come here with very creditable recent efforts in valuable handicaps behind them. The former might have the better chance here as the trip might suit him better. Vitznau ran a cracker here last time when second to Docofthebay and is clearly in good heart, while White Deer hails from a stable that does well here and he holds Vitznau on earlier Chester form, but that did come on soft going. Ivory Lace is a great credit to connections, having won three of her last five races and, with the race possibly being run to suit, she is not ruled out. Finally, Jedburgh cannot be ruled out if getting back to his best form and Waterside likes it at this venue and cannot be ruled out from his current rating, and Prince Of Thebes can't be ruled out if recapturing last season's best form. The selection, though, is Minority Report.
