Verdict

Dawn Mirage steps up a grade after failing to justify favouritism off this mark at Carlisle. Illusive is 4lb higher than when successful over course and distance four weeks ago but still goes on the short-list along with Quebee, who wasn't disgraced when attempting a hat-trick over a mile here last month, and Newbury second Bright Flash. Irish import RED RANNAGH (NAP) was having his first run since January when sixth here last month. Slowly away and then hampered in the straight, he made late headway under a hands and heels ride and has been dropped a pound since.
