      Verdict

      Splendent, War Horse and Soul Stopper were all beaten similar distances on their respective debuts and DEFINITE is preferred. The latter finished last of four at Ffos Las on his introduction but the first two home have both won subsequently so Ralph Beckett’s colt gets the nod on that form. Duelist is a half-brother to 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook while Luminous Light is related to a Listed winner and both newcomers are worth a second look.
