KINGSGATE NATIVE is becoming increasingly difficult to fathom. He landed this in 2009 and will do so again if repeating his runner-up performance in this year's Temple Stakes and a meritorious sixth in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. However, he's becoming hard to win with and spurned a relatively straightforward opportunity latest when down the field at Group 3 level at Sandown. He's given one more chance here. Masamah and Amour Propre fought out a fine York finish in Listed grade last time and will be in the firing line if repeating that level. There should be little between them again. The speedy and consistent Noble Storm should relish this fast track and fully deserves a shot at Group company, whilst Beyond Desire, a good second to Night Carnation last time when Kingsgate Native disappointed, enters calculations on that improved effort.
