Verdict

Burgas has only won once in 20 starts but is very consistent and made an encouraging reappearance in a similar race at Naas when Burren Life was just behind in third. The latter would prefer heavier ground but Gusty Rocky won't mind the conditions and was only headed at the last over an extra furlong at Roscommon. Derrinross, a winner between the flags, has always looked a chaser in the making so did well to be placed in bumpers and over hurdles but SPEAK EASY could be an exciting prospect for J P McManus and Joseph O'Brien. A winning point-to-pointer, he beat a big field of maidens on his hurdling debut before taking on much better class and his pedigree is all about chasing. The four-year-old A Plus Tard is another potentially useful youngster as he won a Listed race over hurdles at Auteuil though he'll prefer more testing ground this winter.
