    Verdict

    LLANARMON LAD was returning from a two-year absence and having his first start for Brian Ellison when second at Newcastle last month. With that run under his belt, he can open his account at the chief expense of Mahican. The latter went close on his debut over a shorter trip at Pontefract and makes more appeal than Captain Rhyric. The newcomer Swehan is related to winners and the betting may give the best clue to his chances.
