Verdict
Sovereign Street went close over track and trip last month but has yet to encounter soft ground and there's a suspicion Bid For Gold would prefer a faster surface after his recent second in amateur company at this track. The latter's stablemate Kapunda produced his best effort so far at Redcar recently and may figure on his handicap bow but ROCK CANYON makes more appeal. He needs to improve again off his current mark but Linda Perratt's three-year-old looks capable of doing so having already won twice at this track this year. Multiple Fibresand winner Alpha Tauri can race off a much lower mark on Turf but looks no nearer to winning on this surface judged on his recent efforts.
