Verdict
This event is sure to be a bit of a crowd puller as the National-Hunt boys strut their stuff, with Alan Dempsey on Greenaway Bay, Bryan Harding on Chapel Royale and Vince Slattery on Sarn the likely protagonists, with Greenaway Bay boasting possibly the best overall form. John Quinn¿s nine-year-old was only 10th in this last year but has dropped to a favourable mark and went well for Serena Brotherton in a ladies race at Doncaster the time before last. Drawn in stall 16, he must go close. Chapel Royale has topweight but also has useful form in this grade, while Bond Millennium has been working well at home and has the assistance of Graham Lee. Richard Guest rode the winner of this race last year, Ambushed for Peter Monteith, but Wilson Renwick is the man in the plate now as the seven-year-old bids to defy an absence of 179 days. Guesty wears his trainer¿s hat this time and is double-handed with Fosforito and New Prospective. The latter has the best form and is preferred. However, Greenaway Way looks the one to be on.
