Verdict

SUTTER COUNTY won at Newcastle in February with Merry Banter a well beaten third. Mark Johnston’s colt also beat Dream Of Dreams early last year and should make a bold bid in this. The latter showed good progress last season when narrowly beaten in Listed company at York in October and has his first start since while Equimou was getting plenty of weight from older horses when fourth in a conditions race at Bath on his reappearance. Hamidans Girl, who finished runner-up in a Class 6 handicap at Musselburgh on Friday, and Plata O Plomo, look up against it on these terms.
