Bryan Smart's Residency has run some reasonable races of late but he remains a maiden after 10 starts and may be booked for a place at best again in a race taken to go to BRONZE BEAU, who gets the verdict ahead of Firetrap. Ann Duffield's gelding is another maiden but has been running creditably in handicaps of late and he has to be respected being dropped into a seller. Jim Goldie's Bees River has yet to win after 19 starts but has been placed on six occasions and cannot be discounted for a trainer that has a good record with his runners here. Linda Perratt's Kristen Jane has yet to even be placed but has run some reasonable races in better contests than this and she too has claims but it is hard to get away from the selection, Bronze Beau. The Linda Stubbs-trained gelding has shown improved form in his last two starts in a Southwell maiden and a maiden handicap at Redcar and he has solid claims of opening his account being dropped into a seller.
