Verdict
Exit Smiling is taken to oblige at the expense of Alsu and newcomer Trickshot in the opening race on the card. Mark Johnston's colt, a son of Dr Fong, made a pleasing debut at Hamilton 18 days ago when second to Monashee Prince. Although always held by the winner, he kept on gamely and will be suited by the extra furlong here. Andrew Balding's filly Alsu is another that will relish the trip, having finished a running on third on her Bath debut, while Trickshot, a daughter of Mister Baileys, is entered for two big sales races in the autumn and is sure to know her job. The market will probably provide the best guide to the chances of Pat Haslam's pair Dramatic Review and Fransiscan, but Exit Smiling will be a popular choice and is our pick as well.
