In depth
Verdict
Not much strength in depth in a weak claimer and the vote goes to Viewforth while American Cousin and Savile's Delight rate the main dangers. Linda Perratt's charge has proved a model of consistency of late, finishing runner-up on his last three starts in sprint handicap company including off a mark of 64 over course and distance last time out. The son of Emarati, who rattled up a hat-trick on this track last season, takes a drop in grade and should prove hard to beat under John Carroll. American Cousin is reaching the veteran stage of his career and has been struggling this term but showed a little more sparkle at Pontefract last time. The David Nicholls-trained gelding has strong claims if reproducing the form of his handicap success at Doncaster last year so can't be ruled out despite having something to find with the selection on these terms. Ex-Irish performer Savile's Delight is easily the best treated on official BHB figures but lost his form towards the end of last season and showed little on his belated return to suggest he can be backed on this occasion.
