In depth

Verdict

Tawzeea is given the tentative vote ahead of Knot In Wood and Zomerlust in this competitive handicap. The selection has done little wrong this season winning two races at Hamilton and at Catterick on his latest outing for which he is now nine pounds higher as a result. That would seem a little harsh but that fact that he won so well and looks a fast improver he ought to take this step up in grade well, and if able to improve once again he can be in the shake up come the end of the race. Knot In Wood has slowly slipped down the ratings to what now looks like a fair mark. He was good enough to win off a mark of 95 last year over this course and distance so he has to be respected if able to reproduce that same level of form. Zomerlust carries a penalty for winning at York last week. He won off a mark of 94 last year and he would be a threat if running to his best once again. But for the winner we return to Tawzeea.
