        Verdict

        Northern Bolt would have strong claims if there was any cut in the ground here, but he may not be at his best on the fast side of good and preference is for ROTHESAY DANCER. Jim Goldie's mare loves it here, where she has recorded four course and distance wins, and she handles any ground. She has now slipped to a very attractive mark and she may well return to form here. Already in form is Desperate Dan, who goes equally well over 5f and 6f and went well in a Bath handicap from 1lb lower before taking a Brighton seller last time. He is feared the way that these weights are framed, while Mandarin Spirit again has claims of picking up some prize money. Rothesay Dancer is suggested.
