Verdict
The presence of Norfolk Stakes winner Masta Plasta ensures that half of the field has to run from out of the weights proper and Howard Johnson's colt is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Rainbow Bay and Grantley Adams. The last mentioned has run well in conditions races in his last two starts but is now 5lbs higher than when touched off in a nursery previously and can hardly be considered well handicapped. Dune Melody ran better than could realistically have been expected in a valuable sales race at The Curragh last month but has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper for that effort and of more interest may be Catterick winner Skhilling Spirit, who looked a shade unfortunate at York subsequently. Flylowflylong faces no easy task from 6lbs out of the weights and of greater interest may be Richard Fahey's Rainbow Bay, who looks to be progressing the right way. The vote then goes to Masta Plasta who lost no caste in defeat behind Johnny The Fish in a valuable sales race that is working out well last time and looks well treated for his first start in this grade.
