Richard Newland has a decent strike-rate with the few runners he has on the Flat and COMPETITION has travelled up from Worcestershire for this. Jane Elliott is one of the more experienced apprentices riding in this and her mount was only beaten a nose off this mark at Yarmouth last week. Royal Cosmic appears to be running into form and is only a pound higher than when winning at Musselburgh in October so looks a danger. Melabi is thrown in on his form last spring and a recent fourth at Haydock was a bit better, though he still has plenty to prove. Dirty Randy and Starshell may need this.
