In depth
Verdict
A very modest affair to close proceedings with top-weight Pilgrim Princess rated just 54. Eric Alston's charge is a previous course winner at Hamilton but is arguably a much more realistic betting proposition over six. Indian Music is a horse who comes here in form but all evidence suggests that he is not quite so effective on this surface. In a race where many are exposed, Sholto could be the surprise package of the race. Making a reappearance after quite some time, it is worth remembering how decisively he won a race at Nottingham in similar conditions after a two-month break. Never Forget Bowie has looked a different horse since being dropped in trip but that said, despite the softening conditions, things will probably be happening too quickly for him here. Evergreen Goretski has tumbled down the handicap to a mark of 50 and he is two pounds lower than when taking this contest last season. High numbers dominated this race last year and drawn fifteen and with Darryl Holland in the plate, the omens look good. The horse is not the easiest of rides but he is made the tentative Teamtalk selection for the night cap.
