      Verdict

      SMART VIOLETTA is not the most reliable, but she did win over a mile here before going close over a longer trip at Ayr last time. She had today's rivals Henrys Gift and Purkab behind on that occasion and Anne Duffield's filly can go in again. Whey Chief has shown little in maidens and takes a big step up in distance today, while Oldmeldrum has shown no improvement for her slide down the weights and Abernethy has lost his form since a win at Ayr.
