In depth

Verdict

COLONEL MAK makes a quick reappearance after a poor effort in Saturday's Ayr Gold Cup. He'd been beaten by today's rival Secret Look at Newmarket before that but re-opposes on better terms here and gets the nod. The latter should make another bold bid but three-year-olds don't have a great record in this and the recent form of El Manati and Baileys Jubilee doesn't say much for their chances. Last month's Epsom winner Hopes N Dreams has decent claims, though, and is preferred to Majestic Myles.
