      Verdict

The Newmarket pair DANCHAI and Kept look the ones to concentrate on with preference for the former despite a very long absence. William Haggas' charge made his debut in a Newmarket maiden last October and ran very well to finish runner-up to a Godolphin winner. There's obviously been something amiss but that form looks superior to that of main challenger Kept, who showed the benefit of a moderate debut with a much better run behind Star Lahib at Ripon. It's impossible to get excited about the remainder but Cruachan is taken to occupy a minor berth.
